Limited traffic along these roads for "Baku Marathon 2026"
Over 25,000 participants are expected to compete at this year's "Baku Marathon", to be held on May 3. Road traffic across parts of the capital will be fully restricted throughout that day.
The restrictions will be in place starting from 09:00 until the end of the event due to the Baku Marathon 2026, Caliber.Az reports citing local authorities.
According to the city’s State Traffic Police, the 42-kilometre race will begin at the National Flag Square off Neftchilar Avenue on the shores of the Caspian Sea, and pass through several major routes across the city before finishing in the Sea Breeze Resort in the Nardaran settlement.
The marathon track will be passing through and/or by the following locations:
- Baku Boulevard
- The Port of Baku
- Neftchilar Avenue
- White City Boulevard
- November 8 Avenue
- Yusif Safarov Street
- Love Park
- Heydar Aliyev Avenue
- Baku Arena (ASK)
- Boyuk Ipek Yolu Street
- Muzaffar Narimanov Street
- Ziya Bunyadov Avenue
- Boyukshor Street, as well as Boyukshor Bridge
- The interchange in the Balakhani settlement
- The Boyukshor–Pirshagi road
- Baku Ring Road (on Bilgah–Pirshagi highway)
Authorities have urged drivers and other road users to plan accordingly and complete their journeys across those roads ahead of the event, while also recommending the use of alternative roads when possible.
