Lithuania blocks dozens of migrants at Belarus border in 24 hours

Lithuanian border guards have turned back 33 migrants attempting to cross illegally from Belarus over the past 24 hours, Lithuania’s State Border Guard Service (VSAT), stated.

Regional data indicates similar activity along neighboring borders. Latvian border guards repelled 65 irregular migrants on April 5, while Polish authorities reported no such incidents on April 4, LRT reports.

Since the start of the year, Lithuania has denied entry to 285 migrants attempting to cross illegally. The figures follow a broader trend seen in recent years, with more than 1,600 attempted crossings recorded in 2025 and 1,002 in the previous year.
