Lithuanian Minister of National Defence Dovilė Šakalienė has confirmed that a drone which crashed on Lithuanian territory was a Russian-made unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) known as the “Gerbera.”
Speaking to national broadcaster LRT, Šakalienė stated that preliminary assessments have identified the downed UAV as a “Gerbera,” a drone capable of serving multiple operational purposes, Caliber.Az reports.
“We can confirm that it was a ‘Gerbera’. This type of drone can be used for various purposes, and we are currently investigating the intent behind its presence,” the minister said.
She noted, however, that there is currently no indication that the drone was intentionally sent into Lithuanian airspace.
