Lithuania receives first UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters from US
Lithuania has taken delivery of its first UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters from the United States, marking a significant upgrade to the country’s military capabilities.
The Lithuanian Armed Forces confirmed the arrival of the aircraft in a post on Facebook, noting that the helicopters will enhance troop mobility, support ground operations, and enable rapid response to threats and emergencies.
The Black Hawks were ordered in 2020, and in preparation for their arrival, a dedicated hangar for storage, maintenance, and servicing was completed last year at Šiauliai Air Base.
Officials said the new helicopters would play a key role in strengthening Lithuania’s defence readiness and improving the military’s ability to respond swiftly to both security threats and civil emergencies.
