Lithuania to spend up to €15 million on state reserve warehouses

Lithuania plans to allocate between €10 million and €15 million to expand its network of warehouses for storing state reserve supplies, Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius said.

Speaking to journalists after visiting one of the facilities, Sinkevičius stressed the need to strengthen the country’s reserves of essential supplies for use during crises and emergencies. 

“It is necessary to expand the state reserve stockpiles across the entire range of civil protection and medical supplies. In addition, it is important to ensure access to these reserves, for which we will expand the network of warehouses by allocating from €10 million to €15 million for the construction of such facilities,” he noted.

Lithuania’s state reserve is designed to provide essential resources in the event of crises and extreme situations. It includes food, medicines, civil protection equipment and transport.
