Lithuanian FM visits Kyiv for high-level talks
Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys has arrived in Kyiv for a working visit to meet senior Ukrainian officials and discuss the war with Russia, security cooperation, and Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
During the visit, Minister Budrys is set to meet with Ukraine’s Acting Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna, Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin, and Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council Oleksandr Lytvynenko, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
Talks are also scheduled with Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak and Defence Minister Rustem Umerov.
The discussions will focus on the frontline situation, international efforts to press Russia into halting hostilities and agreeing on a ceasefire as a precondition for peace negotiations.
The agenda will also include security guarantees for Ukraine, priorities for military, diplomatic, financial, and humanitarian assistance, as well as Ukraine’s progress on EU accession reforms and broader deterrence measures against Russian aggression.
This marks Minister Budrys’s third visit to Ukraine since assuming office. His most recent trip to the country was on April 1, 2025.
