Lithuanian parliament approves Mindaugas Sinkevičius as PM

Lithuania's parliament on June 30 approved Social Democratic Party leader Mindaugas Sinkevičius as the country's new prime minister.

Sinkevičius was confirmed by the Seimas with 80 votes in favor, two against and 28 abstentions, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

He becomes Lithuania's third prime minister since the country's 2024 parliamentary elections.

Sinkevičius replaced Inga Ruginiene of ⁠the same party who held the ​position since last year.
