London commends Azerbaijan for its leadership in global climate action

The United Kingdom has expressed its appreciation to Azerbaijan for its significant contribution to uniting the international community in the global fight against climate change during the COP29 summit.

The acknowledgment was conveyed in an official statement issued by the British Embassy in Baku, Caliber.Az reports.

“As Azerbaijan passes the COP presidency baton to Brazil, the Great Britain thanks COP29_AZ

for bringing the global community together this past year to advance climate action.

From Baku to Belém and beyond, the Great Britain is driving global ambition to keep 1.5°C within reach,” the embassy noted in a post on its X account.

The 30th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30) officially commenced in Belém, Brazil.

Azerbaijan hosted the previous session, COP29, in Baku, where the country played a pivotal role in facilitating dialogue and fostering global cooperation on climate issues.
