London hosts informal talks to heal rift between King Charles III, Prince Harry
An informal meeting took place in London involving aides to King Charles III and Prince Harry, aimed at restoring ties within the royal family, an anonymous source said.
The talks were held at the Royal Over-Seas League (ROSL), a club promoting international friendship. Participants included Prince Harry’s press secretary Meredith Maines, King Charles’s secretary Tobyn Andreae, and Liam Maguire, head of PR for Harry and Meghan Markle in the UK, British media reports,
The source revealed both sides showed willingness to engage in dialogue, stating, “Everyone just wants to move forward. Finally, the right time for negotiations has come.”
Recent efforts by Harry, including a BBC interview in May 2025 expressing hope for reconciliation and an invitation to the royal family for the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham, suggest a shift toward rebuilding ties. However, ongoing disputes over Harry’s UK security arrangements, downgraded after stepping back from royal duties, remain a sticking point. King Charles’s cancer diagnosis in February 2024 and Harry’s brief visits to the UK, including a 45-minute meeting with his father in February 2024, have added urgency to these efforts.
