Lukashenko: Belarus ready for “big deal” with Washington on equal terms
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has stated in an interview with RT host Rick Sanchez that the country is ready for a “big deal” with the United States, while stressing that the interests of both sides must be taken into account.
“We are ready. We are ready for a deal. But it must be prepared in such a way that the interests of both the US and Belarus are taken into account,” Lukashenko said.
The Belarusian leader emphasized that a meeting with the US president is not an end in itself for him. “I am not Zelensky, to ask for money and weapons,” he said, adding that negotiations should not take place “as a meeting between a vassal and an emperor.”
According to Lukashenko, the issue is not about displaying “arrogance” or “cocky politics,” but about dialogue on equal terms. The Belarusian leader underlined that he is ready to negotiate as a president who respects his people.
