Lukashenko calls Khamenei a martyr for defending Iran

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko sent condolences to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian following the death of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ali Khamenei.

According to the presidential press service, Lukashenko stated: “The spiritual leader remained faithful to his people until his last breath and courageously accepted a martyr’s death defending the sovereignty and independence of Iran.”

He emphasised that Khamenei’s legacy and service to his country will be remembered in the hearts of millions. Lukashenko added that he had the honour of meeting the Ayatollah and highlighted the Supreme Leader’s important role in fostering relations between the two countries.
