Lukashenko: Peoples of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine will be together again

On June 25, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that the peoples of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine would eventually be united again despite current divisions.

Speaking at a meeting with Valentina Matviyenko, chairwoman of Russia's Federation Council, Lukashenko described Belarus and Russia as "friendly" and "brotherly" states and said no force could destroy their unity, Caliber.Az reports via Belarusian media.

"There are many who would like to," Matviyenko replied.

Lukashenko said he remained convinced that Belarusians, Russians and Ukrainians would restore their ties in the future.

"I am sure, and I recently told representatives of Zelenskyy about this, that our peoples will be together anyway. Sooner or later, we will be together," he said.

He added that people in the three countries had long lived and maintained friendships together and would continue to do so.

"Time will pass, we will put our heads in order and restore our relations. I am absolutely convinced of that. In this regard, you can count on Belarus," Lukashenko said.
