Macron and Scholz: Ukraine never to be alone

French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz have personally assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of support "for as long as it takes".

Macron and Scholz made the remarks on Twitter on February 9, European Pravda reports.

"It is fighting for peace and carries the values of our European Union: Ukraine will never be alone," he said.

"Ukraine is heroically - with courage, bravery and perseverance - fighting against the brutal Russian aggression. With Emmanuel Macron, I assured Zelenskyy today in Paris: We will stand by Ukraine for as long as it takes," Scholz wrote on Twitter.

Zelenskyy arrived in Paris on the evening of February 8, where he had dinner behind closed doors with the leaders of France and Germany.

During the meeting with Zelenskyy, Macron confirmed that he wants to "accompany Ukraine to victory and peace" and that Russia cannot and should not win.

"We will also stand for the punishment of war crimes committed by Russian soldiers," Macron said.
