Macron backs 10-day Israel–Hezbollah ceasefire, calls for extension
French President Emmanuel Macron has stated that he supports a 10-day ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel and has called for its continuation.
Sharing a post on X, Macron expressed his concern over its fragility, Caliber.Az reports.
“I call for ensuring the safety of civilians on both sides of the Lebanon–Israel border. Hezbollah must give up its weapons. Israel must respect Lebanon’s sovereignty and stop the war,” Macron said.

The US president calls it a "historic day" for Lebanon, and adds that he hopes Hezbollah "acts nicely" during the truce.
Israel and Hezbollah continued to trade strikes over the Lebanese border in the hours before the deal came into force at midnight local time (21:00 GMT).
