Macron confirms French Navy detains Russian vessel in Atlantic operation VIDEO
French naval forces have detained the oil tanker Tagor, which is under international sanctions and arrived from Russia, French President Emmanuel Macron announced on X.
The operation took place in the morning in the Atlantic Ocean in international waters and was carried out with support from several partners, including the United Kingdom, in accordance with international maritime law, Macron added.
La Marine nationale a arraisonné hier matin un nouveau pétrolier sous sanctions internationales en provenance de Russie : le Tagor. Notre détermination est constante et totale.

“It is unacceptable for vessels to bypass international sanctions, violate maritime law, and finance the war that Russia has been waging against Ukraine for more than four years,” the French leader said.
Macron also stressed that such vessels pose risks to environmental and maritime safety, as they “fail to comply even with the most basic rules of maritime navigation.”
