Macron denies political motive behind detention of Telegram founder

French President Emmanuel Macron has stated that the decision by law enforcement to detain Telegram founder Pavel Durov was not politically motivated.

“The detention of Telegram’s CEO on French territory was made as part of an ongoing investigation. This is in no way a political decision,” Macron clarified in a tweet, Caliber.Az reports.

Macron also urged the public to wait for the judicial verdict, emphasizing the importance of allowing the legal process to unfold without speculation.
