Macron enjoys himself while France burns, French politician says
Socialist Party (PS) First Secretary Olivier Faure has criticised French President Emmanuel Macron after he appeared on the cover of Paris Match while vacationing in Bregançon, Var department, saying that while France is burning and some French people have been unable to go on vacation, the president is enjoying himself on a jet ski.
Sharing a post on X, he asked a rhetorical question about whether this was the message, adding sarcastically, “Very well done,” Caliber.Az reports.
Pendant la canicule, quand la France brûle, quand une partie des Français n’a pas pu partir en vacances, le président s’amuse en jet ski à Brégançon. C’est ça le message ?

C’est très réussi. https://t.co/w1J4ciCZqk
The photograph shows Macron riding a jet ski wearing sunglasses. Above the image is the headline: “Last summer in power.”
The photograph was evidently taken with his permission and resembles other images from Macron’s previous summer stays at the presidential residence on the Var coast. Those photos have previously drawn criticism from his left-wing opponents.
According to Paris Match, Macron’s vacation also includes boxing and running, as well as discussions of a number of current affairs.
Earlier, media reported that nearly 3,000 people died in France during this year’s heatwave, twice the expected number of deaths.
