17 March 2026 10:35
French President Emmanuel Macron will reconvene a defence and national security council on the afternoon of March 17, “regarding the situation in Iran and the Middle East,” according to the Élysée Palace.
The new council, which includes ministers and officials responsible for security matters, follows the previous meeting on March 10, Caliber.Az reports via French media.
The session comes as US President Donald Trump has pressed France to respond positively to his request for assistance in securing the Strait of Hormuz.
