Macron’s office confirms authenticity of message posted by Trump
On January 20, the office of French President Emmanuel Macron said that a message published by U.S. President Donald Trump on social media and attributed to Macron is authentic.
In a statement issued after Trump’s post, the Élysée Palace said the text reflects both Macron’s public and private positions on key international issues, including the situation in Iran, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian opposition media.
“The message is entirely real,” the Élysée Palace said.
Regarding Iran, Macron’s office stated that France calls on the Iranian authorities to respect fundamental freedoms and stands with “the women and men who are defending these freedoms.”
Earlier, Trump published the message on his Truth Social platform, saying it was a private note from Macron, in which the French leader wrote that the two were "in line on Syria" and could “do great things on Iran.”
