Macron’s slap incident linked to messages with actress, journalist claims
An incident aboard a French presidential aircraft involving President Emmanuel Macron, when he reportedly received a slap from his wife Brigitte before disembarking last year, was allegedly triggered by correspondence with actress Golshifteh Farahani, French journalist Florian Tardif claimed.
During a radio broadcast, the journalist said Macron had maintained “platonic relations” for several months with Farahani, Caliber.Az reports, citing French media.
“What happened? She (Brigitte — ed.) saw a message [on her husband’s phone] from a well-known figure — the Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani,” Tardif explained.
Brigitte Macron slapped Emmanuel Macron on the face in May 2025 upon the president’s arrival in Vietnam.
The footage capturing the moment sparked widespread discussion online at the time, with social media users debating whether it was a playful interaction or a genuine argument.
