Macron to convene another defence meeting amid Iran tensions
French President Emmanuel Macron will hold another emergency meeting of the Republic’s defence council amid the situation surrounding Iran and the broader Middle East.
The meeting is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. local time (10:00 p.m. Baku time). A similar session was held the previous day, during which Macron stated that France had not been informed in advance of the US and Israeli operation against Iran and did not take part in it, Caliber.Az reports via French media.
He also stressed that the conflict must be resolved through diplomatic means.
The defence council includes, in addition to the president, the prime minister, the minister of the armed forces, the interior and foreign ministers, as well as the ministers of economy and public accounts. Senior military officials also participate in the meetings.
