Macron urges Iran to confirm peaceful nuclear intentions
French President Emmanuel Macron has reiterated that Iran must never possess nuclear weapons and that the Iranian government is responsible for providing full guarantees of the peaceful nature of its nuclear program.
Macron made the statement during a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Caliber.Az reports, citing his post on the X platform.

“President Masoud Pezeshkian called me. I expressed my deep concern about Iran’s nuclear program. Let me be very clear: Iran must never possess nuclear weapons, and it is incumbent upon it to provide all guarantees that its intentions are peaceful. I am convinced there is a path to ending the war and preventing even more serious threats. To this end, we will accelerate the negotiations initiated by France and its European partners with Iran,” Macron wrote.
