Macron urges Israeli, Hezbollah leadership to cease attacks
The French president has urged Israel to exercise restraint in their attacks against Lebanon while calling on Hezbollah to stop launching attacks.
Emmanuel Macron has expressed concern about the escalating exchange of strikes between Israel and the Lebanon-based Hezbollah militant group in a statement published via his official X account.

He has called the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Lebanese people "a matter of serious concern" to France, confirming that the country was in the process of delivering 60 tons of emergency aid to the affected people.
In his statement, he has also addressed the Israeli leadership by calling for it to "respect Lebanese sovereignty and exercise restraint."
The same request has been directed to Hezbollah, as Macron stated that the militant group "must cease its attacks from Lebanon against Israel and hand over its weapons to the Lebanese Armed Forces."
“Israelis and Lebanese have the same right to live in peace and security,” the French leader stated.
