Madagascar’s lawmakers approve impeachment of President Rajoelina

Madagascar’s National Assembly — the lower house of parliament — has voted to remove President Andry Rajoelina from office.

Out of 131 MPs present (out of a total of 151), 130 supported the motion to oust the president, including members of the ruling Together with Andry Rajoelina party, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.

Earlier, President Rajoelina had announced the dissolution of the lower house, but lawmakers deemed his decision unlawful.
