Maduro reveals US secret bases in disputed Guyana-Essequibo state
04 April 2024 12:02
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has confidently claimed that the Essequibo region, which is being disputed by Guyana and the Bolivarian Republic, is home to secret US military bases and CIA cells.
TeleSUR reports, quoting Maduro, that the US is using these bases to prepare attacks on the south and east of Venezuela and seize resources. He has also stated that the US, through the army, the CIA, and ExxonMobil, currently controls the political and military structures of Guyana.
This dispute over the ownership of the territory of Guyana-Essequibo has been ongoing since 1824, with both Venezuela and Guyana claiming ownership.
