Magnitude 5.7 quake struck off coast of Crete

A magnitude 5.7 earthquake has been recorded in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, approximately 85 kilometres south-east of the city of Heraklion on the Greek island of Crete.
Preliminary data indicates that the epicentre of the tremor, which occurred at 06:19 on Friday (April 24), was located around 16–17 kilometres off Crete’s southern coastline, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
The intensity of shaking at the epicentre has been assessed as “very strong”.
Meanwhile, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported the earthquake’s magnitude at 5.8.
