A magnitude 5.8 earthquake hit southern Mexico on March 1, according to the National Seismological Service.
The epicentre of the earthquake was 49 kilometres (30 miles) southeast of Union Hidalgo town in the state of Oaxaca, Anadolu reports, citing the service.
It occurred at a depth of about 10 km (6.2 miles).
There have been no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
