Magnitude 7.0 earthquake hits Alaska

A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck the U.S. state of Alaska on December 6 at 20:41 GMT.
Tremors were felt in Juneau, the state capital, and in nearby regions of Canada, according to local media, Xinhua reports, citing the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
The USGS reported that the earthquake’s epicentre was located 96 km northeast of Yakutat at a depth of 10 kilometres.
There are no reports of casualties or property damage.
The National Tsunami Warning Center confirmed that there is no tsunami threat following the strong quake.
