Magnitude 7.4 earthquake strikes Colombia, damage reported VIDEO

A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 has struck Colombia, according to the US Geological Survey.

Buildings were damaged, and debris was reported in the streets, Russian media reports.

There have been no reports of casualties so far.

The epicentre was 5 km from San José del Palmar, at a depth of more than 100 km.

The governor of Colombia’s Chocó department, Nubia Carolina Córdoba-Curi, reported casualties and damage following the powerful earthquake.

“There are people injured and serious damage to buildings in Quibdó,” she wrote on X.

According to Córdoba-Curi, authorities are assessing the damage. She also warned that further tremors were possible.
