Malta calls early general election
Malta will hold early general elections on May 30 after the government moved to seek a fresh mandate, citing the need for political stability in a difficult international environment.
Prime Minister Robert Abela announced the decision on social media platform X, stating that the country requires renewed political backing to address upcoming challenges, Caliber.Az reports.
In light of the current global realities and challenges ahead, our country needs a renewed mandate to move forward with stability. I will be recommending to H.E. President Myriam Spiteri Debono the dissolution of Parliament for a general election on May 30.
