Mass bomb threats reported at schools across Lithuania
Schools across Lithuania began receiving mass bomb threat messages on Monday, June 1, with police treating the alerts as likely false reports intended to intimidate the public.
At least 130 schools nationwide have so far received emails claiming that explosives had been planted on their premises, and the number of reported cases continues to rise, Caliber.Az reports, citing Lithuanian media.
Police said the threats are being investigated, but no signs of a real danger have been identified at this stage.
Educational institutions have been advised not to suspend classes or examinations, while also carrying out inspections of their premises and immediately notifying law enforcement authorities if any suspicious objects are discovered.
