Massive fire erupts at E-Land logistics centre in South Korea VIDEO
A major fire has broken out at a logistics centre operated by E-Land in the Pungse-myeon area of Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, South Korea, prompting the evacuation of nearby residents and the temporary closure of a local road.
According to foreign media reports, the incident occurred around 7:20 a.m. when flames spread through the four-story building, which stores clothing and consumer goods.
City authorities reported that the first two floors have been completely destroyed, while firefighters are focusing on the third and fourth floors.
A total of 129 firefighters and 63 pieces of equipment from Cheonan and Asan fire stations have been deployed to the scene. “Right now, we are concentrating on extinguishing the flames on the upper floors, but fully suppressing the fire will take time due to the large volume of flammable materials,” said a spokesperson for the fire department.
The city administration issued an emergency alert, urging residents to evacuate and drivers to avoid the area.
