McLaren's Stella: Races in Baku deliver excitement

McLaren team principal Andrea Stella is looking forward to a thrilling race at the upcoming Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Formula 1.

In a media interview, Stella emphasized Baku's reputation for delivering thrills to both fans and the team, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

“We’ve got a competitive car across various circuits, two strong drivers consistently bringing in points, and plenty of reasons for optimism as we approach the final third of the season,” he commented.

Australian driver Oscar Piastri also shared his enthusiasm for the race, saying: “It’s been a while since we’ve raced on street circuits, and Baku always delivers excitement. I’m confident in our car’s speed, the new developments are proving successful, and we’re competitive across different types of tracks. Last week, I returned to the base for further preparation, working with the engineers to identify areas for improvement. We've consistently scored points, and I’m hopeful this weekend will follow suit.”

The upcoming 2024 Formula 1 Qatar Airways Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be held in Baku on September 13-15, 2024. The Azerbaijan Grand Prix is a Formula One motor racing event that was held for the first time in 2017. It is held on the Baku City Circuit, a street circuit in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The event is due to take place at the Baku City Circuit until at least 2026.
