Azerbaijani female boxers shine at Serbian championship with six medals
The Azerbaijan Boxing Federation has announced that Azerbaijani female boxers won six medals at the 62nd Belgrade Winner Elite Men and Women Boxing international tournament in Serbia's capital Belgrade.
All six Azerbaijani athletes who competed in the event gained medals, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Anakhanim Ismayilova (48 kg) won a gold medal, Aynur Rzayeva (+81 kg) took silver, while Marjona Savriyeva (50 kg), Zeynab Rahimova (54 kg), Aynur Mikayilova (57 kg), and Emili Rzayeva (70 kg) gained bronze medals.
The team will return to Baku on February 10.
The 62nd Belgrade Winner Elite Men and Women Boxing international tournament started in Serbia on February 4 and will run till February 10. The Belgrade Winner is one of the oldest European tournaments, and this year gathered boxers from eleven countries.
Some 34 women and 50 men from Austria, Azerbaijan, Ghana, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, Moldova, North Macedonia, Romania, Slovenia and Serbia are participating this time. This is the second international tournament in Serbia in 2025, after successfully finishing 14th Nations Cup two weeks ago.
