F1 season heats up: Saudi Arabian Grand Prix set for April 20 in Jeddah
The high-speed drama of the Formula 1 World Championship shifts to Saudi Arabia this weekend as the series enters its fifth round, with the spotlight now on the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.
The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix will take place on the coastal street circuit in Jeddah, with drivers set to complete 50 laps, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Each lap stretches 6.174 kilometres, making it one of the longest circuits on the calendar.
Qualifying is scheduled for Saturday, April 19, while the main race will take place on Sunday, April 20.
McLaren's Oscar Piastri arrives in Jeddah as the man in form, having claimed two victories from the opening four races of the season. His teammate Lando Norris, who currently leads the drivers’ standings, and Red Bull’s reigning world champion Max Verstappen have each secured one win apiece.
As the grid prepares for the Saudi showdown, the title race is heating up. The current top five in the drivers’ championship is tightly contested:

In the constructors' battle, McLaren has surged to the front with a commanding 151 points. Mercedes follows with 93, while Red Bull holds third at 71. Ferrari and Haas are in fourth and fifth place respectively, with 57 and 20 points.
With championship standings tightening and teams eager to gain momentum, all eyes will be on Jeddah this weekend as Formula 1 continues its thrilling 2025 season.
