Azerbaijani wrestlers put on strong show in Romania, win five medals

Azerbaijani wrestlers won five medals at the Ion Cornianu & Ladislau Simon tournament in Bucharest, Romania.

According to Caliber.Az, citing the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AGF), the country was represented at the tournament by members of the national Greco-Roman wrestling team.

Competing at the prestigious annual tournament under head coach Nuraddin Rajabov and coach Rovshan Bayramov, Farid Sadikhli (55 kg), Farid Khalilov (67 kg), Gurban Gurbanov (87 kg), and Mazaim Mardanov (130 kg) claimed gold medals. Ilkin Gurbanov (63 kg) won a bronze medal.

The national team finished second in the team standings.
