Media: At least 45 Yemeni soldiers killed in Houthi attacks

06 August 2026 17:40

At least 45 Yemeni government soldiers were killed in attacks by Houthi fighters on military positions in the provinces of Marib and Hadramout, Al Hadath television reported, citing military sources.

According to the report, the Iran-aligned Houthi movement, known as Ansar Allah, targeted two military camps — one in Marib, the main stronghold of the internationally recognised government in northeastern Yemen, and another in the eastern province of Hadramout. The timing of the attacks was not specified.

The reported assaults come amid renewed tensions on multiple фронты, including an attempted large-scale Houthi offensive on government positions in southern Al-Hodeidah province in western Yemen, reported earlier on Wednesday.

Yemen has been gripped by conflict between government forces and Houthi fighters since August 2014. While large-scale fighting has largely subsided following a United Nations-brokered truce in 2022, intermittent clashes continue across several regions.
