Media: Bad weather forces Czech FM to delay US trip
04 February 2026 14:48
Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka has postponed his first foreign visit to the United States due to adverse weather conditions.
All departures from Frankfurt am Main Airport, from where Macinka was due to travel to the United States, were canceled because of unfavorable weather, per České Noviny.
Due to the prolonged delay, the minister returned to Prague.
The postponed trip to Washington also prevented him from attending hearings in the Chamber of Deputies, which on February 3 began considering a vote of no confidence in the government of Andrej Babiš.
The initiative was launched following a scandal involving the foreign minister.
