On January 24, a significant fire erupted at a refinery in the Rumaila oil field in southern Iraq, leaving several workers injured, according to local sources.
Four refinery workers sustained injuries of varying severity, Caliber.Az reports via Shafaq News.
Among them, one worker suffered a broken leg, another sustained facial burns, while two others were treated for smoke inhalation.
The blaze broke out at the fifth gas-oil separation station within the Rumaila field. A source at the site reported that "the flames remain uncontrolled despite ongoing efforts by firefighting teams."
Units from the Ninth Brigade of the Energy Police were deployed to assist in extinguishing the fire, while a strict security cordon has been enforced around the affected area.
