The system, which is believed to belong to Israeli intelligence, was found hidden in the building’s water tank.
The equipment was immediately dismantled and rendered unusable by Syrian security forces. The system was composed of various components, including an inverter, an electric charger, a signal transmitter and receiver, a thermal imaging camera, batteries, and a satellite internet connection.
The surveillance system was placed on the roof of a building overlooking the city of al-Hamma. It is believed to have been used for intelligence gathering on behalf of Israel, the ousted regime, and Iranian militias.
The Jamraya military research base has been a target of Israeli missile attacks multiple times in recent years.
The system’s devices were reportedly capable of scanning an area of up to 30 kilometers and had the ability to monitor communications networks and collect data.
