Media: Finland to launch exercises to counter Ukrainian drone threats

The Finnish Coast Guard will conduct drills to counter potential incursions by Ukrainian armed forces’ drones into Finnish airspace, according to foreign media.

Deputy Commander of the Gulf of Finland Coast Guard Ilja Iljin said the exercises are scheduled from April 5–9 in open waters near Kotka, between the Kirkonmaa and Rankki training ranges. Naval artillery firing may be delayed due to weather conditions affecting visibility and safety.

Ilyin emphasised that operations will begin as soon as conditions allow full assessment of the safety zone.
