Media: Hamas announced willingness to transform into a political party
Hamas has signalled its openness to reconfigure itself as a political party, marking a potential turning point in its longstanding approach.
The movement has signalled its willingness to transform into a more conventional political entity, Caliber.Az reports via Al Hadath.
Furthermore, Hamas stated it would not oppose the departure of "certain Hamas leaders from Gaza, provided they are not subjected to persecution outside the Palestinian enclave."
Earlier, on April 13, 2025, Israeli airstrikes intensified across the Gaza Strip, notably targeting Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City. The predawn attack resulted in at least 21 deaths, including children, and severely damaged the facility, rendering it temporarily non-operational. Israel claimed the hospital was used by Hamas as a command center, a charge Hamas denied.
Additional strikes in Deir al-Balah and Jabalya refugee camps killed numerous civilians, including six brothers from a charity and a family in their home. Since the conflict began in October 2023, Gaza's Health Ministry reports over 50,000 Palestinian deaths, predominantly of women and children.
