Russia to unveil new high-mobility MLRS “Sarma” in Saudi Arabia
Russian state-owned defence organisation Rostec is set to showcase its latest multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), the Sarma, at the World Defence Show 2026.
According to Bekhan Ozdoyev, industrial director of Rostec’s weapons, ammunition, and special chemicals cluster, the Sarma boasts high mobility, capable of taking position in just three minutes and withdrawing in the same time frame, allowing for rapid hit-and-run operations, Caliber.Az reports per Rostec.
The system features a modern automated guidance and fire control system and can fire six high-precision 300-millimetre shells in just 18 seconds, including the advanced Tornado-S missiles and other new munitions.
Weighing less than Russia’s heavier Smerch and Tornado-S MLRS, which carry 12 launchers each, the Sarma is designed for quick deployment and precision strikes, offering a combination of speed, firepower, and survivability on the battlefield.
