Media: Hezbollah claims destruction of dozens of Israeli Merkava tanks
Hezbollah has announced that its operations on three fronts in southern Lebanon have led to significant casualties and equipment losses for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
The Lebanese resistance movement claims that since October 1, its fighters have killed over 100 Israeli soldiers and injured around 1,000 others during ongoing clashes, Caliber.Az reports, citing Al Mayadeen.
The statement, shared on Hezbollah's Telegram channel, detailed the damage inflicted on Israeli military hardware. According to the group, Hezbollah forces destroyed 43 Merkava tanks, eight bulldozers, four armoured vehicles and personnel carriers using guided missiles. Additionally, they claim to have downed four Hermes 450 drones and two Hermes 900 drones.
Hezbollah also reported launching around 300 drones and conducting missile strikes on 33 "strategic targets." Notably, the organization highlighted the use of Fateh-110 missiles for the first time on November 6, targeting a military training base in Tzrifin, near Tel Aviv.
The announcement comes amid escalating tensions, with Hezbollah asserting that on November 11, the Israeli army was preparing to launch the second phase of its ground operations in Lebanon, amassing a substantial military force along the border.
Since the start of the operations on September 17, Hezbollah has launched over 1,000 drones in more than 315 operations, including 105 operations with over 300 drones since Operation People of Might kicked off.
