Media: Hungarian PM to visit Yerevan for football match
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban will arrive in Yerevan tomorrow to attend a football match.
The match of the penultimate round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers between the national teams of Armenia and Hungary will take place on November 13 in Yerevan, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian media.
The outlet reports that Orban’s visit to Armenia is connected with this game.
Relations between Armenia and Hungary began to normalise in December 2022, when the two countries agreed to restore diplomatic ties and start a new phase of cooperation.
Since then, they have signed agreements in education, culture, and economic collaboration, while preparing to open embassies in each other’s capitals.
Trade between the two states has also expanded, reflecting a gradual improvement in bilateral relations after years of estrangement.
