Media: Iran denies contact with US, rejects Trump’s claim of "productive talks"
Iran has had no direct or indirect contact with the United States, an unnamed Iranian source told the Fars News Agency, dismissing recent remarks by Donald Trump about “productive negotiations” over the past two days.
The source said there had been “no communication whatsoever” with Trump, either directly or through intermediaries.
Responding to the US president’s comments, the source added that Trump had “backed down” after hearing that all power plants could become potential targets.
Earlier, Trump said that the United States and Iran have held “very good and productive” talks over the past two days aimed at resolving tensions in the Middle East.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the constructive discussions prompted him to order a five-day delay in planned US strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure, pending further progress in ongoing talks.
