Media: Iran prepares for potential US military action
Iranian authorities have reportedly taken a series of precautionary measures amid concerns in Tehran over a potential U.S. military operation, according to media reports.
Iran International reported that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has relocated to an underground shelter in Tehran as part of heightened security arrangements. The facility is described as a heavily fortified complex featuring an extensive network of tunnels.
According to the reports, the Iranian leadership is particularly concerned about the risk of strikes targeting key figures within the country’s political and security system. As part of contingency planning, Khamenei has reportedly delegated some of his powers to his son, Mojtaba Khamenei, who has assumed a leading role within the Supreme Leader’s office.
Media sources claim that Mojtaba Khamenei is now heading the leader’s administrative apparatus and is also acting as a key liaison between the Supreme Leader’s office and Iran’s executive branch.
