Media: Israel completes preparations ahead of possible US Strike on Iran
The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) have completed preparations for a potential US military strike on Iran, according to The Times of Israel.
The publication says an attack could take place at short notice, as the United States finalises the deployment of additional forces to the Middle East.
US President Donald Trump has issued unusually stark warnings in recent days, stating that he had ordered Iran to be “wiped off the face of the earth” should any harm come to him. The remarks were made in response to what Washington described as threats from Iranian officials.
Mass protests erupted in Iran in late December 2025 following a sharp devaluation of the national currency, the Iranian rial. In response, the authorities tightened security measures, with police using tear gas and pneumatic weapons against protesters.
Tehran has accused external forces of orchestrating the unrest. According to the country’s Foreign Ministry, the United States and Israel are involved in the actions of the demonstrators.
