Media: Israeli officials worried as Trump hints at Iran war ending
Statements from Israeli officials and military analysts indicate growing concern following former U.S. President Donald Trump’s remarks suggesting the Iran war could soon end, Al Jazeera reports.
Israel has not yet achieved victory, and an early conclusion could be seen as a win for Iran and Hezbollah. From the outset, Israeli officials vowed to continue bombing Iranian targets until the government falls and the country no longer poses a threat to Israel. Military strikes have targeted Iranian military, nuclear, and oil facilities.
Recent expansion of Israeli operations on Iranian oil infrastructure reportedly sparked discontent among American officials. Strategists warn that such moves could backfire by uniting Iranians around their government.
The U.S. is reportedly not interested in a prolonged conflict, as Trump faces concerns over his electoral support and rising energy prices.
