Media: Jordan, UAE, UK pledge intel, logistics support for US attack on Iran
Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom would provide logistical and intelligence support to the US military if Iran were attacked, according to an Israeli media report
The daily Israel Hayom stated on January 25 that senior figures in President Donald Trump’s administration are advocating for what it described as a “strong attack” on Iran, framing the action as a “fundamental strategic move.”
The report noted that Abu Dhabi and several European nations, including the UK, also support the initiative.
According to the outlet, the UAE, Britain and Jordan would share intelligence and operational information to assist Washington, and could also contribute to intercepting Iranian missiles and drones launched in response.
These defensive measures would aim to safeguard Israel, US military bases in the Middle East, and critical energy infrastructure in the Gulf.
However, the degree of Britain’s involvement remains uncertain, particularly following Trump’s recent remarks downplaying the role of allies in backing US forces during the war in Afghanistan.
The report coincides with the arrival of US Central Command (Centcom) chief Admiral Brad Cooper in Israel on January 24 for discussions with senior Israeli security officials.
Multiple sources, including an Arab diplomat and a Gulf official, have expressed concern over possible US-Israeli strikes on Iran, with Gulf states fearing they could be caught in the crossfire.
Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar have taken the lead in urging the US not to carry out new strikes, while the UAE’s stance remains ambiguous, with officials and experts sending mixed signals.
